The humanity of Jesus has no subject other than the divine Person of the Son. Every action carried out by Him is an action of the Person of the Son, who works through the human nature He has assumed. Likewise, everything that Jesus suffered was endured by the Son in His human nature.
Consequently, the miracles were performed by the Son through His human nature, while the sufferings were inflicted upon Him in that same nature. Every action of Jesus, therefore, has as its single subject the Person of the Son.
Catholic theology defines as “theandric operations” those actions which the divine Person of the Son accomplishes by means of the human nature He has assumed. Since in Christ there is one single Person who possesses both the divine and the human nature, His actions cannot be regarded as exclusively divine or exclusively human, but rather as participating in both.
