The Belly of Baal

Father Anthony Mellace

In these past few days, I became curious to know what the legal status of abortion is in the nations around our globe. The results of my investigations on the Internet were the following: one small group of nations completely forbids abortion under any circumstances and twelve other groups permit it for one or more reasons by which they attempt to justify the practice. I will present each group and the pseudo-justifications brought forth by them to back up their legislation for the killing of the unborn.

Group A:  Abortion is forbidden under all circumstances

I praise God for these countries that defend human life and possess the wisdom to know of its precious value, not allowing any false reasoning to snuff out the life of defenseless and vulnerable unborn victims. Unborn human life in these ten countries of the world is fully protected by law:

--Niger, Laos, Maldives, Vatican, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Tuvalu, Chile and Uruguay

Group B:  Abortion is allowed only when the life of the mother is in danger

With the rapid growth and advancement of modern medical technology, cases of threats to a mother’s life by a pregnancy are extremely rare nowadays. This argument can be easily discarded. Besides, it is not morally allowed to kill a child in order to save a mother’s life, her life is no more important than the child’s. Both lives need to be saved by the doctor. Legislators all know this, but being pressured by feminists and socialists; they cede to provide at least one loophole in the law for abortion. Countries that have only this clause have fewer abortions than others that provide more reasons for it, but still, murder is murder and the argument used in this case is unjustifiable. The strictness with which this argument is employed in actual cases keeps abortion in check to a certain point. Nonetheless, all abortion laws in the world began with this famous argument and then spread to others that liberalized the practice. The 59 nations that allow abortion only in this case are:

--Angola, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt*, Gabon, Kenya* (pressured by Obama’s blood money to liberalize abortion laws but refused), Lesotho, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi*, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Somalia, Swaziland, Brunei, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Andorra, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, San Marino, Antigua e Barbuda, Dominica, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Argentina, Paraguay, Suriname, Venezuela (funny that Hugo Chavez did not allow abortion in the nation).

*countries extremely strict even in this case

Group C:  Abortion is allowed when the life of the mother is in danger and in cases of rape

No child is guilty of having been conceived in a case of rape and his murder is unjustifiable.  He committed no crime that he should be punished by death. Who should pay is the rapist, not the child. The following nation does not agree and decreed the death of the child in cases of rape:

Group D:  Abortion is allowed when the life of the mother is in danger and her physical and mental health threatened

If a woman feels that a pregnancy might affect her physical figure or leave her emotionally stressed and nervous, then this clause allows her to have an abortion and rid herself of her problem child. What these fools do not understand is that an abortion does great harm to the body of a woman and leaves her much more emotionally traumatized than the pregnancy itself. There are also many health professionals that can accompany a woman throughout her pregnancy and make it easy for her to bring it to term without any psychological traumas. These things are not valid reasons for murdering a child. The 26 countries that permit abortion in these cases are:

--Algeria, Burundi, Comoros, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, Malaysia, Qatar, Liechtenstein, Northern Ireland, Costa Rica, Grenada, Saint Kits and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Cook Islands, Samoa, Vanuatu, Ecuador, Peru

Group E:  Abortion is allowed when the life of the mother is in danger, her physical and mental health threatened and cases of rape

Five nations permit abortion in these cases:

--Cameron, South Korea, Thailand, Pakistan, Bolivia

Group F:  Abortion is allowed when the life of the mother is in danger, her physical and mental health threatened, cases of rape and when the fetus shows signs of physical defects

One of the most cowardly and shameful arguments and reasons used to justify the killing of the unborn is simply for possessing a physical defect. This is pure eugenics at its worst and far more terrible than Nazism. Who are we to judge the life of another and leave it in the hands of those who will decide whether it dies or not for purely utilitarian reasons and the whims of personal convenience? For a mother to murder her child because she wants it to come out perfectly healthy is to practice a most horrendous and horrible racism and discrimination. The 12 nations that followed this path of a shocking Darwinian human selection are:

--Botswana, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Namibia, Seychelles, Togo, Hong Kong, Bahamas, Colombia

Group G: Abortion is allowed when the life of the mother is in danger, cases of rape and when the fetus shows signs of physical defects

Two nations allow abortion in these cases:

--Benin, Faroe Islands

Group H: Abortion is allowed when the life of the mother is in danger, her physical health is threatened, cases of rape and the fetus shows signs of physical defects

Four nations permit abortion in these cases:

--Poland, Haiti, Panama, Zimbabwe

Group I: Abortion is allowed when the life of the mother is in danger, her physical and mental health is threatened and when the fetus shows signs of physical defects:

Two nations allow in abortion in these cases:

--Chad, New Zealand

Group J: Abortion is allowed when the life of the mother is in danger, her physical and mental health is threatened, when the fetus shows signs of physical defects and if the mother lives in poverty

If the mother has not the physical and economic resources to raise a child, the solution is not to murder it, but to hand it over to the responsibility of society. There are many organizations ready to lend a helping hand to a poor pregnant woman. The nations that allow women to abort their children for reasons of poverty are:

Group K: Abortion is allowed when the life of the mother is in danger; her physical and mental health is threatened, when the fetus shows signs of physical defects, cases of rape and the mother lives in poverty

The seven nations permitting abortion in these cases are:

--India*, Switzerland*, Cyprus, Barbados, Belize, Saint Vincent and Grenadines, Fiji

*India has 11 million abortions per year

*15% of pregnancies in Switzerland end up in abortion

These group of nations are completely saturated with the abortion mentality and culture of death assimilated into their hearts. They do not propose to put forth any arguments or reasons and apologetics for abortion. The simple fact that a woman wants an abortion is reason enough for them to allow it. This state of mind did not come to these nations all at once, but took years of repeated and ever more liberalizing and expanding legislation of abortion until there was nothing more to legislate on it.  Women simply decide for themselves when, how and for what personal reasons they want to have an abortion and the law accepts this to murder the child. In the following 67 nations, unborn human life has absolutely no protection at all before the law:

--Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, South Africa, Tunisia, Western Sahara, Cambodia, China*, Japan, North Korea, Mongolia, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Israel, Lebanon, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland*, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy*, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Albania*, Armenia*, Azerbaijan, Belarus *(White Russia), Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia*, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania*, Russia*, Serbia*, Slovakia, Slovenia*, Turkey, Ukraine, Canada, Cuba, Mexico, United States of America, Australia, Guyana

*In Belarus, the simplest excuses are enough to snuff out the life of an unborn baby. If the husband is driving his pregnant wife somewhere and dies, it is enough reason for her to have an abortion. The jail sentence for either the father or mother of the child is enough to justify an abortion. A court order stripping a woman of her parental rights at the same time would allow her to have an abortion.  If a mother has a household of more than five children, she can abort her sixth child. A divorce that occurs between a man and woman suffices to justify an abortion. If the mother has mental or physical disabilities, she can abort her child. 39% of pregnancies in White Russia end up in abortions.

*In Estonia, the more reasons a woman provides for having her abortion, the more money she is paid!! 39% of pregnancies in this country end in abortion

*Romania has 46% of its pregnancies end up in abortion

*China has an annual 13 million abortions and 10 million abortion pills distributed amongst the population (abortion is utilized for demographic purposes)

*10% of Italy’s pregnancies end up in abortions

*23% of Armenia’s pregnancies end in abortion

*9% of pregnancies in Finland end up in abortion

*Russia was the first country in the world to legalize abortion in 1920. Lenin, the socialist promoter of abortion, justified it on the grounds that it was a question of woman’s right to her own body (after 90 years, the same dull and false argument is  regurgitated and rehashed over and over again. Like Jesus said, the dog keeps going back to his own vomit). Russia has, proportionately, the highest abortion rate in the world: 2.7 million abortions per year. Our Lady’s promise at Fatima concerning the conversion of Russia is pertinent: this nation needs to make reparation for the great evil of abortion that she spread all over the world.

*Serbia has 23% of the pregnancies in its country end in abortion

*18% of the pregnancies in Slovenia end up in abortion

*Albania has the second highest abortion rate of Europe: half the pregnancies (50%) end up in abortion

Mary at Fatima said that several nations would be annihilated, the Pope would have much to suffer, Russia would spread her errors throughout the world and the good (not Catholics) would be martyred. If someone asks me what nations are marked for annihilation, I answer: look at the information above. Those who have eyes to see can perceive which ones are in the greatest danger of disappearing from the face of the earth. Warsaw was the city hardest hit by Hitler’s Panzers. Why not Budapest, Bratislava or Copenhagen, for example? Warsaw was the city with the greatest number of abortions in Europe. God only punishes where sin is present and only where sin is present. If one wants to escape the future holocausts of our world, there are still ten nations that did not bow down their heads to the heathen gods of our modern murderous world to which one can flee to for safety.
