Catholic Voters

According to “Catholics for a free choice” 51% of Catholics voted for Biden voted and his anti-life agenda.

According to PEW Forum, Catholic registered voters are evenly split between those who identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party (47%) and those who favor the GOP (46%).

Our U.S. Catholic population has hovered around 22% for the past few decades.

Back in 1970, reports the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate, 54.9 percent of American Catholics went to Mass every Sunday. Today, (2024) that figure has dropped to 31 percent. The Center for Church Management at Villanova University projects an attendance rate in the neighborhood of 12 percent by next year or the year after.

Today’s U.S. population = 340.1 million

U.S. Catholic population of 20% = 68,020

Catholics who attend Mass every Sunday (31%) = 20,142

Percentage of practicing Catholics in the U.S. = 5.92%

When we calculate the number of practicing Catholic in the U.S. it comes down to 5.92% of the national population. This is why we have little or no political influence.

The Democratic party demonstrates a total disregard for Catholic moral teaching; especially in the slaughter of the innocents. If the Catholic Church is for a particular moral issue, the Democrats are against it.

I cannot understand why any knowledgeable Catholic can totally disregard the will of God in these matters. One day we will all stand before God and answer for our political vote.
