Procrastination
It seems that very few souls were entering hell and this disturbed Satan greatly. He brought together three of his best henchmen and discussed the problem. One of the demons volunteered to try to help and Satan gave him full reign. After a week went by, there was no improvement in the number of souls entering hell. Satan called the demon back and asked him what tactics he was using. The demon told Satan that he was simply telling people that God doesn't exist. Satan became very upset with the demon and told him that people know God exists. He sent the second demon and another week went by. Again there was little success. Just a few souls trickled into hell. Satan brought back the second demon and asked him what tactics he was trying. The demon told him that he told people that God does exist, but He is a merciful God and He will always forgive their sins. Satan told him that even in the civil law they have justice. God is just and demands reparation for sin. We are in hell because of that justice. The third angel was sent and shortly thereafter and within a short time numerous souls were falling into hell. Satan was very pleased and called the third demon home to find the reason for his success. The third demon said, "I told people that God exists, and that he is merciful and would always forgive their sins. But I also told them that there was no hurry, that they could always confess tomorrow." © Evangelization Station, 2010 |
